Nancy Ales Dwyer earned her B. S. in Child Development in 1980 and her M. A. in 2002 from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Since 1995 she has trained students to be Montessori teachers with the Montessori World Educational Institute (MWEI). Besides teaching part-time for Mary in the mornings, Nancy also teaches at Cal Poly in the Child Development department. She has been married for 21 years to Tom, a locomotive engineer. They have a daughter, Sarah who is 19 years old.

Nancy's hobbies include sewing, reading and most currently, taking pictures. The Dwyers have traveled to Italy twice and Ireland once in the last 8 years. They are looking forward to spending more time traveling.
